Moths are mostly known as ugly winged insects. As opposed to the butterfly, moths are rarely praised in poems: If at all mentioned, they play a rather unwelcome role; merely spending their lives seeking light and ending up in self-destruction. At first glance, we view moths as grey, flaky, bothersome pests; with little going for them other than their desire for illumination. However, their vitality and devout pursuit of light inspired me to highlight the beauty of their overlooked patterns and capture their relentless nature.
