Ethos

KAHAKARI is a responsible start-up experimenting with materials and techniques in order to create future-oriented quality products.

The artisan bags of the current collection are ethically made by re-wrap, kala-raksha and trama textiles.

KAHAKARI has started its journey in Vienna, an impressive Central European city that is full of culture and colourful stories.
Given its geographical location and its high quality of life, Vienna has an unique blend of people from various backgrounds. The diversity in many aspects and the educational excellence foster new ideas, ways of thinking and avenues from which the brand KAHAKARI learns and garners inspiration.

Vienna is a traditional and contemporary city at the same time. History is well preserved and present.
There are beautiful heritage buildings everywhere and the distinctive Viennese coffee house culture is part of the modern way of life. Enjoying together a wonderfully aromatic cup of coffee is often the beginning of new promising projects.
The abundance of green areas within the city allow people to breath, find balance in their day-to-day life und keep the connection to nature.
There are awesome (farmers') markets, amazing places to eat and a fantastic transportation system which allows people not being far from anywhere.
The freedom to express your creativity openly and easily on the streets with street art, in the press and via exhibitions has a cross-pollinating effect on local creators.

A fun aspect of life in Vienna is about the weather. It is a quite windy city which can be refreshing in summer but sometimes leaves people with extraordinary hairstyles.

From KAHAKARI's perspective, Vienna offers much to tap into and therefore the beautiful Danube city is a great starting point.
